Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 April 2025  ·  Effective immediately

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the WatchForward Poster application ("Service") operated by Pierluigi De Rogatis ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. We've written them to be readable — not to trap you in clauses.

In plain English: Use WatchForward to create posts from your genuine Strava activity data. Don't abuse the Service or use it to mislead people. AI-generated content is a starting point — you're responsible for what you publish.

1. What WatchForward Does

WatchForward Poster is a web application that connects to your Strava account to retrieve your workout activity data and uses Google Gemini AI to generate social media post captions for platforms including Strava, Instagram, X (Twitter), and Bluesky. The Service allows you to optionally write AI-generated titles and descriptions back to your Strava activities.

2. Strava Integration

WatchForward uses the Strava API. By connecting your Strava account, you also agree to Strava's Terms of Service. WatchForward is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Strava. All Strava-related trademarks and branding belong to Strava, Inc.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

4. AI-Generated Content

Posts and captions generated by WatchForward are produced by an AI system (Google Gemini). You are solely responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before publishing it to any platform. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, appropriateness, or tone of generated content. By posting AI-generated content to external platforms, you accept full responsibility for that content and its compliance with those platforms' respective policies.

5. Intellectual Property

Content you generate using WatchForward from your own workout data is yours. We claim no ownership over posts or captions generated for your activities.

The WatchForward application itself — including its design, code, and branding — is the intellectual property of Pierluigi De Rogatis. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from it without written permission.

6. Rate Limits & Fair Use

To ensure a quality experience for all users and comply with third-party API quotas, the Service enforces the following daily limits per user:

These limits reset at midnight UTC. Attempting to circumvent these limits is a violation of these Terms and may result in access being suspended.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that generated content will be of any particular quality or accuracy.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WatchForward and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, reputational damage arising from AI-generated content, or interruption of service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Service at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time and revoke Strava access via Strava Settings → My Apps.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Italy.
